Role Description The Field Geophysicist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Field Geophysicist will plan and execute geophysical surveys, coordinate field crews, and ensure safe and efficient data acquisition across a variety of terrains and project types. Responsibilities include operating geophysical instrumentation, monitoring data quality in real time, and documenting field conditions and survey parameters. The role also involves preliminary data processing, assisting with interpretation, preparing technical field reports, and collaborating closely with project managers, geologists, and clients. The Field Geophysicist will adhere to company safety standards, maintain field equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement in survey methods and workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in geophysics and applied geosciences, with demonstrated experience in geophysical surveys and field operations.
- Proficiency in data acquisition using geophysical instruments and systems, including planning, deployment, calibration, and quality control.
- Skills in geophysical data processing and general data processing workflows, including basic analysis, validation, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related engineering discipline.
- Ability to work in field conditions, travel as required, and follow strict health, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary technical teams and clients.
- Experience with seismic, GPR, electrical, or gravity-magnetic methods and related software tools is highly beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to document field activities and technical findings clearly.
