Job Description – Field Failure Engineer (Energy Meter)
Position: Field Failure Engineer – Energy Meter
Location: Hyderabad
Experience:2–5 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
Job Summary
Responsible for analyzing field-returned energy meters, identifying root causes of failures, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform failure analysis of energy meters and related electronics.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and prepare reports.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, and R&D teams for corrective actions.
- Support customer complaints and field issue resolution.
- Monitor failure trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of energy meter electronics and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with multimeter, oscilloscope, and testing equipment.
- Understanding of RCA tools like 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in smart meters/AMI projects.
- Knowledge of DLMS/COSEM and EMI/EMC basics.
