Job Summery:
The Field After-Sales Service Engineer is responsible for comprehensive post-installation support, maintenance, and performance optimization of air compressors, air dryers, compressed air systems, and utility equipment such as PSA gas generators and industrial chillers. The role ensures system reliability, air/gas quality compliance, energy efficiency, and long-term customer retention, while supporting AMC growth and service revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
After Sales Support & Customer Management
- Act as the primary technical interface post-installation
- Build long-term relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction
- Conduct periodic health checks and follow-ups
- Handle complaints and ensure closure within SLA timelines
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance for: Air compressors (screw / reciprocating), Air dryers (refrigerated / heatless), Compressed air filtration & piping systems, PSA gas generators (Nitrogen/Oxygen systems), Industrial chillers and cooling systems
- Diagnose issues such as: Pressure/flow fluctuations, Moisture and oil contamination, Adsorption/desorption issues in PSA systems, Temperature control, cooling inefficiencies, refrigerant-related issues, Electrical/control panel faults
AMC Execution & growth
- Execute AMC schedules across all equipment categories
- Maintain detailed checklists, logs, and compliance reports
- Identify risks and recommend preventive replacements/upgrades
- Support AMC renewals, upgrades, and scope expansion (multi-utility coverage)
Documentation & Technical Reporting
- Submit detailed service reports, audit reports, and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Track equipment history, downtime, and recurring failures
- Provide actionable insights for system improvement
Cross Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with spares, projects, and sales teams
- Support technical discussions, audits, and customer meetings
- Escalate critical issues with proper diagnostics
Required Skills and competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Compressed air systems & air treatment
- PSA gas generation technology
- Industrial chillers & cooling systems
- Troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Understanding of ISO 8573 standards and gas purity concepts (preferred)
- Ability to read P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and manuals
- Strong customer handling and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage field responsibilities
Qualifications :
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering
Experience:
- 2–6 years in after-sales service of compressors / utilities / industrial equipment
- Hands-on experience with PSA generators, chillers, or similar utility systems preferred
Working Conditions:
- Frequent Field travel
- Industrial site environments
- Availability for emergency breakdown calls
