About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Field Coordinator to support community-based enterprises, livelihood initiatives, and innovation-driven project in Geyzing, Sikkim. The role involves coordinating with local communities, producer groups, government departments, NGOs, startups, and market stakeholders to strengthen enterprise development and ensure effective implementation of project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with community-based enterprises, SHGs, FPOs, artisans, farmers, and local entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate the establishment and strengthening of micro-enterprises and livelihood initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with government departments, NGOs, CSR partners, financial institutions, buyers, and other stakeholders.
- Identify market opportunities and facilitate market linkages for community products and services.
- Support product development, value addition, branding, packaging, and commercialization of local products.
- Conduct field visits, community meetings, training programmes, and capacity-building workshops.
- Assist entrepreneurs in accessing government schemes, funding opportunities, and technical support.
- Monitor field activities, document progress, collect field data, and prepare periodic reports.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely implementation of project activities and deliverables.
- Represent the organization in meetings, exhibitions, networking events, and stakeholder consultations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Rural Management, Agriculture, Social Work, Development Studies, Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in community development, livelihood promotion, enterprise development, project coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with SHGs, FPOs, cooperatives, startups, or rural enterprises is preferred.
- Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within West Sikkim and nearby project locations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and report writing.
- Knowledge of Nepali, Bhutia, Lepcha, or other local languages will be an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in market linkage, value chain development, entrepreneurship promotion, or community enterprise development.
- Ability to build partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and field coordination skills.
