Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support our business expansion in India. This role is responsible for providing technical expertise and application support for industrial computing and edge AI solutions, working closely with the sales and engineering teams to deliver optimal solutions to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in embedded and/or industrial systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to support customers throughout the design-in and deployment process.
Major Job Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Pre-sales Technical Support & Solution Design
I. Work closely with the India sales team to provide technical consultation and solution recommendations for customers.
II. Analyze customer requirements and propose suitable solutions based on ADLINK’s industrial computing, edge AI, or embedded platforms.
III. Support technical discussions, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (POC) activities.
IV. Assist in preparing technical documentation, proposals, and responses for RFQs/RFPs.
2. Application Engineering & Customer Support
I. Support customers during product evaluation, system design, and design-in stages.
II. Provide technical guidance for system integration, application development, and deployment.
III. Troubleshoot technical issues and assist customers in debugging and optimizing system performance.
IV. Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to customers and partners when necessary.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration & Market Feedback
I. Collaborate with RMA teams to determine whether a product requires RMA processing. Collect detailed technical information from customers, including System configuration, Error logs, Operating environment, and Failure symptoms. Assist RMA engineers in conducting failure analysis and help identify whether issues are related to Hardware defects, Software bugs, Configuration errors, and Improper usage.
II. Work closely with product management and engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
III. Collect market insights and customer feedback to support product improvement and new solution development.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field).
- 3–6 years of experience in Field Application Engineering, Technical Support, or Embedded/Industrial System Engineering.
- Familiarity with industrial PCs, embedded systems, edge computing platforms, or industrial automation solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to travel domestically for customer visits, technical support, and project discussions.
- Language: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherCAT, CAN, or similar).
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows embedded systems, edge AI, machine vision, or industrial IoT applications.
- Experience supporting system integrators or OEM customers in industrial or automation markets.
- Self-driven, hands-on, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
