Purpose:
This position reworks and repairs damaged or defective parts of plastic bulk containers by various means which may include extruding, fitting, sanding, recycling materials, sorting and washing according to customer specifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rework and repair damaged or defective parts of plastic bulk containers
- Determine which parts to restore or replace and how much time the job should take according to customer specifications and company procedure
- Verify dimensions of parts using tape measurers, and or the use of other precision instruments
- Safely use various hand and power tools to trim, drill, ream, countersink, grind, and finish parts to specifications
- Good housekeeping and safety
- Other duties as assigned ex. Assist in Wash Plant, certification in fork lift, maintain inventory records of sorted recyclable material, monitors equipment operation and reports malfunctions to supervisor, unloads/loads recycled materials
Requirements
- Must be 18 yrs. of age
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Demonstrate strong math and computer skills
- Experience with precision instruments, hand tools, and power tools
- Must be able to work at the required pace while ensuring 100% accuracy
- Ability to follow all work instructions and safety procedures
- Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a changing environment
- Must be available to work any shift
- Able to work independently and self-motivated
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; to raise and lower objects without mechanical aids; to extend hands and arms in any direction to reach, push or pull objects; to bend at the knees and at the waist; and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to be able to stand for long periods of time, to walk, to have the ability to balance and to climb industrial ladders and use stairs in the work area. The employee must have the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to wear and use required safety equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, head protection, and gloves.
