About the role

About ffVC

Founded in 2008 in New York, ffVC is an early-stage venture capital fund with offices in New York and Warsaw. We currently manage our second European fund, a €40 million fund focused on Pre-Seed to Series A investments across the DACH and CEE regions.

The Role

This is an opportunity to participate in the entire venture investment process - from deal sourcing and initial evaluation, to deep due diligence and preparation of materials for the Investment Committee. As an Associate, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, taking ownership and lead responsibility over selected potential investments. You’ll work closely with partners and other team members, actively shaping investment theses, interacting with founders, and driving execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the evaluation process for potential investment opportunities - from initial screening and founder engagement through to Investment Committee preparation.
  • Conduct independent deep dives into markets, business models, and competitive dynamics to identify compelling opportunities aligned with ffVC’s thesis.
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end due diligence, including expert interviews, customer references, financial validation, and product assessments.
  • Drive thematic research and insight development across emerging sectors and technologies.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, top VC-backed startup or other fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill large volumes of information into concise insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Polish fluency is a plus but not required).
  • Self-starter mentality with high levels of curiosity, initiative, and ownership.
  • Previous experience in startup environments, e.g., as a Founder’s Associate, early startup employee, or in startup-focused sales or strategy roles, is a strong plus.
  • A track record of engaging with the startup ecosystem is a strong plus (e.g., hackathons, startup events, side projects).

What We Offer

  • High levels of autonomy and impact.
  • Significant exposure to early-stage investing in Europe.
  • Hybrid work model – a mix of remote work and time at our centrally located office on Poznańska Street in Warsaw.
  • International team.
  • Opportunities to travel to industry events and conferences across the DACH and CEE regions.

Recruitment Process

  • Application Review - CV screening
  • 1st Interview
  • 2nd Interview
