POSITION SUMMARY 
As a Retail Pharmacy Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operations of our pharmacy. You will be responsible for assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing excellent customer service, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the pharmacy.

Position Summary Expanded: 
Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, (“The Unity Bill”) this position is considered a “Safety-sensitive position. “Safety-sensitive” is defined to include “any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.” Employees working in “safety-sensitive” roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions and responsibilities, but are not limited to the following:
1.    Customer Service:
•    Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
•    Answer customer inquiries regarding medications, prices, and insurance coverage.
•    Retrieve and file prescription orders.
•    Always maintain confidentiality of patient information.
•    Professionally and promptly address any customer complaints or concerns with empathy and escalate through appropriate chain of command as needed.
2.    Inventory Management:
•    Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies.
•    Receive, unpack, and stock incoming shipments.
•    Rotate stock and check expiration dates regularly.
•    Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliations.
3.    Administrative Duties:
•    Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling paperwork.
•    Enter prescription and customer information accurately into the pharmacy computer system.
•    Verify insurance information and process claims.
4.    Compliance and Safety:
•    Adhere to all pharmacy regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA and FDA regulations.
•    Follow proper procedures for handling and disposal of medications.
•    Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
•    Report any safety hazards or incidents to management promptly.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

•    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
•    Previous experience in a retail or healthcare setting preferred.
•    Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
•    Attention to detail and accuracy in handling medications and paperwork.
•    Basic math skills for calculating dosages and prices.
•    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
•    Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and software is a plus.
•    Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and regulations.
•    Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
