About the role
The Federal Reserve Board (Board) offers a unique opportunity for students through its Internship program, specifically designed for those pursuing careers in fields such as economics, finance, accounting, information systems, and data analysis. This program aims to blend academic learning with practical work experience, allowing students to gain essential skills and knowledge that are crucial in today's competitive job market. Interns are expected to be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and must return to their studies after the internship. The internship is a paid position, with compensation based on the number of credit hours, and can be conducted in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid format depending on team needs. As a Statistics Data Management Analyst intern, you will be part of the Statistics area within the Information Technology Division. Your role will involve supporting teams that are responsible for the collection, validation, and analysis of data reported by financial entities, which is critical for decision-making processes. You will collaborate closely with team members to provide data support, conduct research, and offer analytical services that aid in the formulation and execution of monetary, regulatory, and supervisory policies. Interns will engage in various tasks, including implementing new data collections, conducting research related to financial data, validating data through automated systems, and providing project management support. Previous interns in this role have contributed to projects that involve analyzing revisions of financial data, updating data quality checks, organizing access requests for data collection systems, processing reported data, and developing metrics for evaluating the Statistics business line. Additionally, there may be opportunities to work with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies. This internship not only provides valuable experience with data collection methods and validation processes but also allows interns to explore potential career paths in financial data collection and analysis.
