Duties
The Database Management Branch ADE-420, under the Application & Database Services Division, is responsible for Database Management within the Office of Information and Technology (AIT). It requires the oversite of daily Production database operations within MMAC, WJHTC along with the AWS/Azure Cloud environment. The continuous operational support consists of Production database releases, Security patching, and continuous operational monitoring. The environment consists of multiple database platforms which consists of Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL. The position duties include: Communicating the organization's vision and objectives. Serves as a first line supervisor at the Branch level; assigning work, setting priorities, and reviewing and evaluating work. Monitoring and evaluating yearly performance reviews, approving Time and Attendance (T&A). Ensures staff are appropriately trained, supported and informed. Coaching and developing employees; recommending or approving corrective or disciplinary actions Performing critical aspects of the budget planning process, including projecting short-term and long-term future needs and justifying resource requirements. Resolving routine problems that typically impact the objectives of the organizational unit; when required, coordinating with customers outside the immediate organization. Identifies technical trends and best practices in Database Management. Participates in AIT intake meetings to determine proper method for fulfillment of customer database requirements and requests. Participation in yearly AIS Security Assessments for Database Management as the System Owner. Ensures that production Database's are compliant within all Security standards.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience is: Experience with establishing and providing oversight and database management services, to include DatabasePlatforms, AWS/AZURE Cloud Environments, Database Migrations and Platform Upgrades.
