Fashion Designer Intern

Duration: Internship (Full-Time)
Stipend: Up to ₹7,000 per month
About the Role
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Fashion Designer Intern from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) who is passionate about fashion trends, garment design, and product development. The candidate will work closely with the Design and Merchandising team to support collection development for export and domestic fashion projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating seasonal design concepts and mood boards
- Research market trends, colors, fabrics, trims, and silhouettes
- Prepare CADs, sketches, and presentation sheets
- Support in sample development and coordination with sampling team
- Assist in fabric sourcing and trim selection
- Maintain design files, swatches, and artwork records
- Coordinate with merchandisers and production teams for design execution
- Work on embroidery, print, and graphic developments as per buyer requirements
- Help in preparing tech packs and design specifications
Eligibility Criteria
- Recently completed Fashion Designing course from NIFT
- Good understanding of garment construction and fashion trends
- Basic knowledge of fabrics, prints, and trims
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW
- Creative mindset with good communication skills
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced garment export environment
Preferred Skills
- Strong fashion sense and color understanding
- Knowledge of womenswear, kidswear, or casualwear categories
- Ability to work on multiple styles simultaneously
- Positive attitude and team coordination skills
