Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer to join our team in Lucknow, specializing in garment and ethnic wear design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional Indian aesthetics combined with contemporary fashion trends. This role requires the ability to conceptualize, design, and develop high-quality ethnic collections that align with brand identity and market demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze current fashion trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics in ethnic and fusion wear.
- Design original collections including sarees, lehengas, kurtas, anarkalis, and Indo-western outfits.
- Develop sketches, digital illustrations, and mood boards to present design concepts.
- Select appropriate fabrics, colors, patterns, embellishments, and trims suited to each collection.
- Collaborate with artisans, karigars, and production teams to ensure design feasibility and quality execution.
- Oversee sampling, fittings, and modifications to achieve desired garment fit and finish.
- Ensure designs meet cost targets without compromising creativity and quality.
- Work closely with merchandising and marketing teams for product launches and seasonal collections.
- Maintain documentation of designs, technical specifications, and production guidelines.
- Stay updated with traditional embroidery techniques such as chikankari, zardozi, and other regional crafts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Minimum 25 years of experience in garment or ethnic wear design.
- Strong portfolio showcasing ethnic and fusion wear designs.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or CorelDRAW.
- Excellent sketching and visualization skills.
- Knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and textile techniques.
