Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer role based in New Delhi. The Fashion Designer will research trends, fabrics, and materials to develop new apparel concepts aligned with brand guidelines and market demand. Daily responsibilities include sketching designs, creating technical drawings, selecting textiles and trims, and coordinating with pattern makers and production teams to ensure accurate sampling and fitting. The role also involves supervising embroidery and surface ornamentation, conducting fittings, adjusting garments for optimal fit and comfort, and collaborating with merchandisers and buyers on collections and timelines. The Fashion Designer will participate in vendor discussions, quality checks, and feedback reviews to maintain design standards and production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, with the ability to translate ideas into commercially viable collections.
- Hands-on experience with Textiles and Embroidery, including fabric selection, surface ornamentation, and material sourcing.
- Proficiency in garment Fitting, including sample evaluation, alteration instructions, and ensuring comfort, silhouette, and size consistency.
- Ability to develop design sketches (manual or digital), prepare tech packs, and collaborate effectively with pattern, sampling, and production teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or formal training in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of fashion trends, color theory, and market positioning, ideally within Indian and contemporary fashion segments.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail, creativity, and a portfolio demonstrating previous fashion design work are highly desirable.
