Role Overview
We are looking for a highly practical,
production-focused designer with minimum 5 years of experience who can create cost-effective, timeless, and scalable designs — not just conceptual work.
This role involves end-to-end ownership from design to sampling to production coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design with Cost & Scale in Mind
Develop saree designs using:
Digital prints
Screen / block prints
Computerised & hand embroidery
Ensure designs are:
Cost-efficient
Easy to replicate in production
Suitable for defined price ranges
2. Technical Development
Create:
CADs / print layouts
Tech packs
Motif placements
Prepare production-ready files for:
Printing
Embroidery
3. Sampling & Execution
Work closely with:
Karigars
Printers
Embroidery vendors
Ensure:
Accurate sampling
Minimum iterations
On-time development
4. Vendor & Production Coordination
Identify and manage:
Print vendors
Embroidery units
Fabric suppliers
Ensure consistency in quality and timelines
5. Production Readiness
Convert approved designs into bulk production-ready styles
Maintain design consistency across batches
What We Are Looking For (Non-Negotiable)
Minimum 5 years experience in textile / saree / ethnic design
Strong understanding of:
Prints + embroidery techniques
Saree layout and placement
Proficiency in:
Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop
Ability to create:
Tech packs
Production-ready design files
MOST IMPORTANT
Ability to design within cost constraints
Strong sense of what works in production (not just visually)
Focus on timeless, elegant aesthetics
Ability to meet deadlines consistently
