Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Designer role based in Mumbai. The Fashion Designer will conceptualize and design high-fashion evening wear and cocktail dresses, with a strong focus on hand embroidery and textile details for international markets. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing seasonal collections, creating sketches and technical specifications, selecting fabrics and materials, and collaborating with the embroidery studio and production teams to translate concepts into finished garments. The role involves overseeing fittings, refining silhouettes and construction details, and ensuring designs meet brand standards, quality specifications, and client expectations. The Fashion Designer will also research global fashion trends, contribute to theme boards, and work closely with merchandisers to align design outputs with market requirements in the US and Europe.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Fashion Design and Fashion, including concept development, sketching, and collection planning.
- Candidates should possess skills in Embroidery and Textiles, with the ability to design and coordinate hand-embroidered panels, fabric selection, and surface embellishments.
- Candidates should possess skills in Fitting, with experience in garment construction, pattern understanding, and refining silhouettes for high-fashion evening wear.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field are beneficial.
- Experience in luxury or high-fashion womenswear, familiarity with international (US and Europe) fashion trends, and strong attention to detail are preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with production, merchandising, and vendor teams, manage deadlines, and communicate design ideas clearly is essential.
