We are looking for a hands-on Apparel Designer to manage end-to-end design, 3D development, sampling, and vendor coordination for our D2C apparel brand. The role emphasizes fast iteration, digital & phyical sampling, costing, and quality control and handover to bulk production.
You will collaborate closely with founders, marketing, and operations teams to create consumer-focused, commercially viable products with quick turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Product Development
- Research fashion trends, customer insights, and competitor offerings
- Develop capsule / seasonless collections aligned with brand identity
- Create sketches, CADs, flats, and sampling-focused tech packs
- Develop and iterate styles using CLO-3D or similar 3D garment software to reduce physical sampling
- Select fabrics, trims, colors & silluhouttes.
- Create and maintain size charts with a strong focus on fit consistency
- Coordinate rapid sample development and conduct fittings
- Implement fit, construction, and design revisions efficiently
Merchandising & Costing
- Coordinate with vendors for sampling, proto development, and small-batch trials
- Prepare BOMs and cost sheets; ensure pricing aligns with target margins
- Track sample progress, approvals, and timelines
- Identify cost optimization opportunities at the design and digital-sampling stage
- Maintain accurate documentation for all developments
- Sourcing of trims and fabrics will also include travel across the country.
Quality & Cross-Functional Support
- Ensure sample quality, measurements, and construction accuracy
- Support QC checks at the sample and pilot stage
- Collaborate with marketing teams on product stories, fabric highlights, and USPs
- Support photoshoots by ensuring sample readiness and styling accuracy
- Analyze customer feedback and returns to refine fits and designs
Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Technology, or related field
Experience
- 2–6 years of experience in apparel design and merchandising
- Experience with D2C brands, startups, or sampling-driven environments preferred
- Exposure to Lingerie / Womens wear / Athleisure / Maternity / Kidswear / knitwear is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with CLO-3D, Browzwear, Optitex, or similar 3D design tools
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and measurements
- Tech pack preparation and costing expertise
- Understanding of sampling workflows and quality checks
- Basic knowledge of e-commerce requirements (size charts, fit notes, care labels)
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW is an advantage
Soft Skills
- Strong execution and follow-up capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple styles and fast timelines
- Clear communication with vendors and internal teams
- Commercial thinking with customer-first design sensibility
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability

- Speed from concept to approved (physical or 3D) sample
- Reduction in physical sampling through 3D adoption
- Accuracy of tech packs and measurements
- Cost adherence at the sampling stage
- Sample fit approval rate and reduced customer returns
