Job Description
We are looking for a highly creative and experienced fashion designer specializing in hand painting and kids’ couture to join our design team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of children’s fashion, couture detailing, fabrics, silhouettes, and surface design, with proven experience in creating unique, artistic, and commercially appealing collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop exclusive couture collections for kids, from concept to final garment.
- Create and execute hand-painted artwork and motifs on fabrics and garments.
- Develop new silhouettes, themes, color palettes, prints, and embellishment concepts.
- Work closely on-site with the pattern maker and master to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Provide detailed design inputs, sketches, measurements, and construction instructions.
- Select and source appropriate fabrics, trims, embellishments, and accessories according to each collection.
- Coordinate with fabric vendors and develop/suggest suitable fabrics for couture garments.
- Conduct fabric and surface experimentation to create distinctive designs.
- Supervise samples, fittings, alterations, and final production.
- Maintain consistency between the original design concept and the finished garment.
- Research upcoming fashion, kidswear, couture, fabric, and design trends.
- Develop collections while maintaining the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in fashion designing, preferably in kidswear, couture, occasionwear, or luxury fashion.
- Strong expertise in hand painting on textiles/garments.
- Good understanding of pattern making, garment construction, and couture techniques.
- Ability to work closely with pattern makers, masters, tailors, and production teams.
- Strong knowledge of fabric sourcing and fabric suitability for different silhouettes and designs.
- Excellent understanding of fabrics, textures, trims, embellishments, and garment finishing.
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a collection from concept → design → sampling → fitting → final garment.
- Willingness to work on-site and actively participate in the sampling and production process.
