Role Description The Fashion Design Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Bengaluru, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The specialist will design and develop apparel and accessory concepts, create detailed sketches, and prepare technical specifications for production. Day-to-day responsibilities include researching trends, selecting fabrics and trims, coordinating with pattern makers and suppliers, and ensuring design quality from concept to final sample. The role also involves collaborating with styling and graphic design teams, participating in fittings, reviewing samples, and adjusting designs based on feedback. The Fashion Design Specialist will work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive collections that align with brand identity, timelines, and cost requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong Fashion Design skills, including sketching, concept development, and collection planning.
- Knowledge of Fashion Styling and an understanding of how garments and accessories work together to create complete looks.
- Experience with Textiles, including fabric properties, sourcing, and suitability for different designs.
- Proficiency in Sewing and garment construction techniques to communicate effectively with production teams.
- Basic Graphic Design skills for creating mood boards, presentations, and digital design layouts.
- Relevant education in Fashion Design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency with design and illustration software (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools).
- Attention to detail, strong time management, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru in a hybrid model and adapt to a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
