About Rustlines
Rustlines is India’s first denim house focused on handcrafted innovation, small-batch drops, and design-led experimentation. From acid-wash hoodies to limited-edition denim jackets, every piece is built with character, intention, and craft.
We’re now expanding our design team and looking for a driven Fashion Design Intern who is excited to create, experiment, and build the next wave of denim & street-inspired fashion with us.
Role Overview
As a Fashion Design Intern, you will work closely with our co-founders to assist with product research, development, sampling, and execution. You’ll get hands-on exposure across the entire production cycle, from sketches to fittings to final samples.
This role is perfect for someone who wants real-world design experience, thrives in a fast-paced creative environment, and wants to see their ideas turn into actual products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Support
Assist in creating design sketches, moodboards, colour palettes, and technical drawings.
Contribute fresh ideas for upcoming drops, collections, and limited-edition capsules.
Support in developing denim silhouettes, washes, fits, and detailing.
2. Research & Trend Analysis
Study fashion trends (streetwear, denim, global high-fashion, silhouettes).
Research washes, patchwork concepts, prints, trims, and design elements.
Benchmark competitor products & industry shifts.
3. Sampling & Production Assistance
Coordinate with artisans, tailors, and wash houses during sampling.
Assist in fittings, spec adjustments, and quality checks.
Ensure samples meet Rustlines' standards for fit, finish, and craftsmanship.
4. Fabric & Trims Coordination
Work on sourcing denim, knits, trims, hardware, and accessories.
Maintain documentation of fabrics, GSM, wash outcomes, and costing.
5. On-Ground Studio Support
Organize sample racks, swatches, trims, and design archives.
Support in shoot preparation, styling assistance, product prep, ironing, etc.
What We’re Looking For
1) Pursuing or completed a degree/diploma in Fashion Design (not mandatory)
2) Strong understanding of garment construction & fabrics.
3) Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop.
4) Strong sketching ability (hand or digital).
5) Interest in denim, streetwear, and experimental design.
6) Detail-oriented with strong execution skills.
7) Comfortable working in a startup environment.
8) Someone who treats design like a craft, not a task.
What You’ll Gain
1) Opportunity to work directly with an experienced team.
2) Hands-on production exposure, not just classroom theory.
3) Your designs may go into real collections sold across India.
4) PPO opportunity based on performance.
5) A competitive stipend.
