Role Description The Fashion & Apparel Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Tiruppur, responsible for overseeing day-to-day production, quality, and supply chain activities within the apparel manufacturing operation. This role includes planning and monitoring order execution, coordinating with merchandising, production, and procurement teams, and ensuring that timelines, quality standards, and cost targets are met. The Operations Manager will manage factory workflows, track inventory and fabric utilization, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. The role involves close collaboration with vendors, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders, as well as regular reporting on performance metrics and adherence to compliance and safety standards. The Operations Manager will also support team development through clear communication, training, and performance guidance.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in apparel production operations, including line planning, capacity management, and workflow optimization.
- Experience in supply chain and logistics management, covering sourcing, inventory control, and coordination with vendors and transport partners.
- Proven ability to manage quality control processes, ensure compliance with standards, and resolve production and quality issues efficiently.
- Skill in data-driven decision-making, including use of production reports, KPIs, and basic analytical tools to monitor efficiency and costs.
- Effective people management and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and fashion industry practices, preferably within knitwear or similar apparel categories.
- Comfort with using ERP or production management systems and basic proficiency in office productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email, presentations).
- Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Management, Production Management, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant experience in apparel manufacturing may be considered in place of formal education.
- Prior experience in an operations or factory management role in the fashion or apparel sector, ideally in Tiruppur or similar textile hubs.
