Health Unit Clerk
Fall River Health Services – Long Term Care
Pay Range: $17.40 – $19.66/hour
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m. (some flexibility with start and end times needed). Full-Time 40 hours a week.

This position combines clerical support, resident interaction, communication, and teamwork to help ensure residents receive the highest quality of care and service every day.
What You’ll Do
As a Health Unit Clerk, you will support nursing staff and residents through a variety of clerical and resident-focused responsibilities, including:
- Answering phones and EMS radio communications
- Processing physician orders and maintaining resident charts
- Entering documentation into PointClickCare
- Scheduling appointments and arranging resident transportation
- Accompanying or driving residents to appointments and outings
- Assisting with resident activities, meal delivery, and answering call lights
- Managing medical and personal care supply inventory
- Maintaining organized and stocked supply rooms
- Assisting with admissions, transfers, and discharge processes
- Supporting a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, providers, and team members

Requirements
Education/Experience/Licensure
High school diploma or equivalent. Some medical background beneficial
Current certification as a nurse assistant or willingness to complete nurse assistant training
Must have or obtain BLS certification within 90 days of employment
Current SD Driver’s License (required to be on the facility insurance plan to drive facility vehicles to and from resident activity outings).
