Compensation: $125,000-$135,000 (annual)
Position Summary:
The main job responsibility of the Divisional Manager of Operations (DM-Ops) is to manage the day-to-day operations of Falck’s EMS operation within the City of San Diego to ensure efficient and appropriate deployment of EMS resources through a team approach.

Essential Functions:
The DM-Ops may be assigned to any number of duties related to meeting the contractual responsibilities of the operation within the City of San Diego. These duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate Falck’s partnership with San Diego Fire & Rescue Department.
- Manage the activities of all EMS supervisors and field personnel to ensure effectiveness in all aspects of daily operations.
- Provide coverage through deployment within the EOA in an emergency response vehicle.
- Acts as the EMS Field Commander
- Resolve complaints from field personnel regarding work assignments, vehicles, and equipment.
- Interview potential candidates.
- Investigate complaints, concerns, infractions, etc.
- Issue discipline per policy.
- Coordinate the successful launch and recovery of ambulances and personnel.
- Account for PCRs according to Dispatch Log Reports.
- Acts as company representative to assigned county and city functions.
- Ensure optimal service levels to all customers and patients.
- Manage inventory in a cost-effective manner.
- Inspect crew quarters for cleanliness and safety compliance. Investigates any deficiencies.
- Ensure that all command staff is continuously made aware of the issues pertaining to operations through effective written and oral communications.
- Implement all directives issued by management.
- Maintain availability during disaster situations or mass casualty incidents and assist in any necessary capacity. Maintain ability to lead ambulance strike team deployments.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and personal communication skills.
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or related field of study.
- Operational knowledge of local EMS systems and five years of experience providing or directly overseeing the provision of the services in an EMS related field.
- Minimum two years of experience in supervising and leading others.
- Knowledge of PC usage and general office software operations.
- Must maintain ability to be insured through company’s insurance carriers.
- Current Paramedic certification at the level required by City, County or contract
- Current San Diego County and City EMS Paramedic Accreditation at the required level
- Current American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider card
- Completion of IS-100 b course from EMI or equivalent
- Completion of IS-200 b course from EMI or equivalent
- Completion of IS-700 a course from EMI or equivalent
- Completion of IS-800 course from EMI or equivalent
- Completion of Introduction of Hazardous Materials course
- Completion of Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogen course
- Completion of WMD/ Terrorism Awareness for Emergency Responders
- Completion of Basic EMS Concepts for CBRNE Events
- Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) training at the following levels:
- ICS 100, ICS 200 and ICS 300

Frequently: Good manual dexterity, typing wpm 40, with the ability to perform all tasks related to the position of DM-Ops.
Constantly: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, possess hand-eye-foot coordination and color recognition.
