Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Faculty in Bioinformatics role based at Amity University Punjab in Punjab, India. The faculty member will design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in bioinformatics and related disciplines, including lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions. Responsibilities include developing course materials, assessments, and laboratory exercises; mentoring and advising students on academic and research matters; and supervising student projects and dissertations. The role also involves conducting independent and collaborative research in bioinformatics, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to funded research proposals. The faculty member will participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, academic committees, and outreach activities that strengthen industry and research collaborations.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (preferably PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Strong teaching aptitude with experience in delivering courses, designing curricula, and assessing student learning outcomes in bioinformatics or related areas.
- Research experience demonstrated by publications in reputable journals, conference presentations, or participation in funded projects.
- Proficiency with bioinformatics tools, databases, and relevant programming or scripting languages (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, or similar).
- Ability to guide student research projects, foster an inclusive learning environment, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Commitment to continuous professional development, ethical academic practices, and contributing to the university’s research and innovation culture.
- Prior teaching or postdoctoral experience in a university or research institution is highly desirable.
