Job Purpose
· This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining Health programs in line with industry best practices and corporate EHS guidelines.
· The position ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a proactive health culture, and drives continuous improvement aligned with corporate EHS strategies.
Major Areas of Responsibilities
1. Occupational Health Management
· Conduct pre-employment and periodic medical examinations.
· Implement health surveillance programs for employees exposed to chemical and physical hazards.
· Assess fitness for work and provide recommendations for job placement and restrictions where required.
· Monitor occupational diseases and work-related illnesses.
· Maintain confidential employee medical records and health databases.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and factory regulations.
- Maintain statutory health records, registers, and reports.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance assessments by regulatory authorities.
- Participate in risk assessments and occupational health compliance reviews.
3. Health Promotion & Employee Wellness
- Conduct health awareness programs on occupational hazards, lifestyle diseases, ergonomics, and mental well-being.
- Promote employee fitness and preventive healthcare practices
4. Chemical Exposure Monitoring
- Evaluate health risks associated with chemical exposure.
- Support in investigating cases of suspected occupational illness and exposure incidents.
- Advise management on occupational health controls and preventive measures.
5. Emergency Medical Care
- Provide immediate medical treatment for workplace injuries, illnesses, and chemical exposure incidents.
- Manage emergency response during chemical leaks, fires, toxic exposure, and other industrial emergencies.
- Coordinate ambulance services and referrals to external hospitals when necessary.
- Ensure readiness of emergency medical equipment, medicines, antidotes, and first-aid facilities.
6. Occupational Health Centre Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Occupational Health Centre.
- Supervise and ensure the competence of nursing staff, paramedics, and first-aid responders.
- Ensure adequate stock of medicines, emergency drugs, antidotes, and medical consumables.
- Maintain calibration and functionality of medical equipment.
Person Specifications
Essential Qualification: MBBS + AFIH
Desired Experience: 10-12
Experience: Total 05-08 years of work experience in the chemical industry.
Industry Preference: Chemical
