Job Title: Factory Accountant – Stock Management

Location: Assam, India

Role Overview

We are hiring a highly disciplined Factory Accountant with primary responsibility for stock accuracy, inventory control, and factory-level accounting. This is a control-critical role where accuracy, vigilance, and daily monitoring are essential.

The role demands hands-on involvement on the shop floor to ensure that all material movement is correctly recorded and reconciled without delay.


Core Responsibilities

1. Stock & Inventory Control (Primary Responsibility)

- Maintain real-time and accurate records of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

- Track daily inward, outward, and consumption of materials

- Ensure strict GRN, issue, and production entry discipline

- Perform regular physical stock checks and reconcile with system records

- Immediately report and investigate any variance or discrepancy

- Implement controls to prevent material loss, wastage, or pilferage


2. Factory-Level Accounting & Bookkeeping

- Pass accurate accounting entries related to purchases, expenses, and stock

- Maintain proper linkage between inventory records and financial books

- Ensure no backlog in entries and no mismatch between stock and accounts

- Maintain complete documentation for audit and verification

- Support HO in closing books and providing required data on time


3. Coordination & Control

- Work closely with stores, production, and procurement teams

- Ensure discipline in documentation and process adherence on the shop floor

- Follow up with internal teams for timely and accurate data capture

- Assist in internal audits, stock audits, and compliance checks


Non-Negotiable Requirements

- Education: B.Com / M.Com

- Experience: 3–7 years in factory accounting / inventory handling (manufacturing mandatory)

- Strong hands-on experience in stock management and reconciliation

- Working knowledge of Tally/ERP and MS Excel

- Basic understanding of GST and accounting principles

- Willingness to work on-site in factory environment (not a desk-only role)

- Proactive in identifying and resolving stock discrepancies

- Strong sense of ownership and accountability

- Full audit readiness at all times


Important Note

This is not a routine accounting role. The candidate will be expected to actively monitor stock on the ground and enforce control systems within the factory.
