Role Description The Facade Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Thane. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for facade projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services, based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and structural plans, conducting quantity take-offs, preparing BOQs, soliciting and analyzing vendor quotations, and developing competitive bids. The Facade Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and sales teams to refine estimates, support proposal submissions, and assist in value engineering. The role also involves maintaining updated cost databases, tracking market rates, and supporting project budgeting and cost control during pre-construction stages.
Qualifications
- Strong technical understanding of facade systems such as structural glazing, ACP cladding, glass railings, and canopies, including materials, installation methods, and relevant building standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and preparing detailed BOQs and cost breakdowns.
- Experience with estimation tools and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel) and comfort working with cost databases, vendor price lists, and market rate analyses.
- Solid analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations, measurements, and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering, project management, procurement, and client-facing teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet bid and proposal deadlines, and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience as an estimator or engineer in facade, glazing, cladding, or related construction fields is highly beneficial.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience in facade construction will be considered.
- Awareness of safety, quality, and sustainability considerations in facade design, material selection, and installation practices.
