Role Description The Facade Designer will work on-site in Kerala, India in a full-time capacity, collaborating with project teams to develop detailed facade design solutions for various building types. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing shop drawings, coordinating with architects and structural engineers, and developing design details for cladding and glazing systems in line with project specifications and local regulations. The role involves creating buildable and cost-effective facade solutions, supporting BIM modeling and fabrication documentation, and ensuring that designs meet structural, thermal, and aesthetic performance requirements. The Facade Designer will also participate in design reviews, resolve technical issues during execution, and communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to maintain quality and timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of facade engineering, including Facade and Facade Design, with the ability to translate architectural concepts into practical solutions.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Shop Drawings and related fabrication documentation for facade projects.
- Technical understanding of Cladding systems (metal, stone, composite, etc.) and their detailing, performance, and installation methods.
- Experience working with Glazing systems, including curtain walls, unitized systems, and window assemblies.
- Proficiency in CAD and BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with relevant design and analysis software used in facade engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; specialized training in facade design is an advantage.
- Good understanding of structural behavior, building envelopes, and applicable codes and standards.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
