Role Description This is a full-time Fabrication Production Incharge role based in Raurkela, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home as per project requirements. The role involves overseeing day-to-day fabrication production activities, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring fabrication workflows for structures, piping, and equipment components. The Fabrication Production Incharge will supervise fabrication teams, ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, safety standards, and quality procedures, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site teams to meet project timelines. Responsibilities include managing material availability, optimizing resource utilization, resolving production issues, and maintaining accurate production records and reports. The role also requires continuous improvement of fabrication processes, support for shutdown and turnaround projects, and regular communication with management and clients regarding progress, risks, and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes for structural steel, piping, and equipment, including interpretation of engineering drawings and fabrication standards.
- Experience in production planning, workflow scheduling, and resource allocation in an industrial fabrication or mechanical contracting environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise shop-floor teams, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and manage vendor or subcontractor interfaces.
- Sound understanding of safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and quality control procedures relevant to industrial fabrication and erection.
- Proficiency in basic computer tools (e.g., MS Office) and familiarity with production reporting, documentation, and ERP or fabrication management systems is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with prior experience in fabrication production or workshop management in heavy industry.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to work in fast-paced shutdown and turnaround environments.
- Willingness to work in hybrid mode from Raurkela, with flexibility to support site activities, extended hours, or shifts during critical project phases.
