key responsibilities for the Fabric Manager role
experience: 8 to 12 yrs
Location: Noida Sec 135
- Source fabrics aligned with seasonal themes, price points, and timelines
- Develop new fabric qualities (knits, denim, blends, and value-added fabrics) in collaboration with mills
- Ensure fabrics meet design intent in terms of hand feel, fall, and overall aesthetic
- Maintain and update a fabric library (season-wise and for core continuity qualities)
- Achieve target fabric costs across product categories (tops, bottoms, outerwear, etc.)
- Drive cost optimization through GSM engineering, blends, and suitable substitutions
- Negotiate with mills for bulk pricing, MOQs, and favourable credit terms
- Build and manage a strong base of reliable mills (knits, wovens, denim, trims)
- Ensure vendor capacity, consistency, and adherence to timelines
- Identify and onboard new vendors where required (cost or capability gaps)
- Coordinate closely with factories to ensure timely submission and approval of lab dips, strike-offs, and fabric samples
- Ensure all fabrics meet kids wear quality and compliance standards (colour fastness, shrinkage, azo-free, etc.)
- Minimize rejections and fabric-related defects during production
- Work closely with the QA team for testing, validation, and approvals
