Role Description The F5 VELOS Implementation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area. This role involves planning, configuring, and implementing F5 VELOS platforms and related application delivery services for client environments. The engineer collaborates with project teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and execute deployments, including testing, optimization, and documentation of configurations and processes. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, providing advanced technical support, ensuring high availability and security of network and application traffic, and coordinating changes in accordance with project timelines. The role also requires close interaction with clients to provide guidance, training, and post-implementation support, while adhering to best practices and organizational standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Software Implementation and Project Implementation for networking and application delivery solutions such as F5 VELOS.
- Proficiency in Technical Support and Customer Service to diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and maintain positive client relationships.
- Experience in Project Management, including planning, coordination, and execution of implementation activities within agreed timeframes.
- Knowledge of F5 technologies (VELOS, BIG-IP, LTM, GTM/DNS, ASM, APM) and related networking concepts (TCP/IP, SSL, load balancing, firewalls).
- Ability to create technical documentation, implementation runbooks, and configuration standards.
- Relevant technical certification(s) such as F5 Certified Professional or equivalent networking certifications are advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams on-site in Johannesburg.
