Export Merchandiser acts as the vital link between international buyers and local manufacturers. They oversee the complete lifecycle of an export order—from sampling and costing to production, quality control, and final shipment—ensuring deadlines are met and profitability is maintained.Job ResponsibilitiesOrder Management: Manage the entire export process from initial inquiry to final shipment dispatch.Buyer Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for international clients, providing updates on order status, shipments, and trend requirements.Planning & Scheduling: Create and monitor the Time & Action (T&A) calendar to track fabric sourcing, sampling, production, and inspection deadlines.Costing & Pricing: Analyze production costs, negotiate prices with suppliers, and prepare accurate costing sheets to maintain profitability.Quality Assurance: Coordinate with quality and production teams to ensure all goods meet buyer specifications, compliance requirements, and international export standards.Documentation: Verify and process critical export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and shipping bills.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: Typically requires 2–5 years of experience working in an export house, buying agency, or apparel/textile manufacturing company.Knowledge: Deep understanding of sourcing, fabric construction, washing/finishing techniques, and export regulations.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to negotiate effectively and build strong relationships with global buyers and local vendors.Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical skills for cost-analysis and inventory management.Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and exposure to ERP systems or supply chain software.
