Focus Polymers & Emulsion Ltd. (White Magic brand) India's leading PSA emulsion manufacturer is looking for an experienced Export Business Development Manager to drive our international expansion.
Who we are: 15+ years in specialty chemicals, 1,200+ MT/month production, 40%+ market share in India's label stock PSA segment, ISO 9001:2015 certified.
We are looking for a driven, well-networked professional who understands the adhesives and specialty chemicals industry from the inside and is ready to take ownership of building Focus Polymers’ international presence.
This is not a junior role. We want someone who has already sold into international markets, has relationships with distributors or converters in at least one of our target regions, and can work independently to convert leads into long-term accounts.
The engagement structure is flexible: we are open to a full-time salaried hire for the right candidate, or a commission-based consultancy arrangement with a retainer for an experienced freelance export professional.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
- Identify, approach, and qualify distributors, converters, importers, and direct buyers in target export markets.
- Build and maintain a structured pipeline of leads across at least 2–3 international territories.
- Represent Focus Polymers at relevant trade fairs, industry events, and buyer meetings.
- Conduct market research to understand local demand, competition, pricing norms, and regulatory requirements.
Sales & Account Management
- Manage the full sales cycle from first contact through sampling, technical discussion, negotiation, and order closure.
- Coordinate with the Focus Polymers technical and production teams on sample dispatch, formulation queries, and application support.
- Negotiate pricing within approved bands and present commercial proposals to prospects.
- Develop long-term relationships with key accounts to generate recurring orders.
Documentation & Compliance
- Coordinate export documentation requirements: COA, TDS, MSDS, REACH/RoHS declarations, CHEMEXCIL certificates where needed.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and logistics partners to ensure smooth shipment execution.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions, orders, and pipeline status.
Reporting
- Provide a monthly pipeline and activity report to the Director.
- Flag competitive intelligence, pricing feedback, and market trends as they emerge.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have
- 5–15 years of experience in the adhesives, coatings, PSA, or specialty chemicals industry.
- Demonstrated track record of closing export orders or managing international distributor relationships.
- Strong understanding of water-based adhesives, PSA emulsions, or related polymer chemistry.
- Existing contacts in label converters, flexible packaging manufacturers, or specialty tape producers in at least one international market.
- Ability to work independently with minimal hand-holding.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages a plus.
Good to Have
- Prior experience with CHEMEXCIL, APEDA, or other Indian export promotion bodies.
- Familiarity with REACH, RoHS, or other international compliance frameworks.
- Experience with South Asian, Middle Eastern, African, or Southeast Asian markets.
- Existing relationships with freight forwarders and CHA (Custom House Agents).
- Knowledge of SAFTA, ISFTA, or other FTA frameworks relevant to Indian chemical exports.
