Accounts Payable Manager

Overview:

 

ExplorUS is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to support the financial health of their organization nationally. ExplorUS is a family-owned company with nearly 30 years of experience operating National, State, and local park concessions. At ExplorUS, we focus on finding small to medium-sized park operations where we can make a large difference. Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting/Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will lead a team of 5 individuals, ensuring smooth day-to-day accounts payable and receivable operations across multiple entities. This role will be based out of their Overland Park, KS corporate office.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable

• Oversee daily invoice processing to keep payments accurate, on time, and well-documented.
• Manage approval workflows in Stampli and ensure expenses are coded correctly

Vendor Relationships

• Keep vendor information accurate and up to date.

• Build strong relationships by communicating clearly and resolving any payment issues quickly and respectfully.

Process Improvement

• Look for ways to simplify and strengthen AP processes for greater efficiency and consistency.

• Partner with Finance and IT to implement smart system improvements and automation.

Team Leadership

• Lead and support a talented AP team by providing coaching, training, and encouragement along the way.

• Foster a collaborative, growth-minded culture where people feel valued and accountable.

Integrity & Compliance

• Ensure accuracy and compliance in NetSuite, Stampli, and other systems.

• Support audits, maintain internal controls, and uphold the highest ethical standards in every transaction.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years leading or mentoring a team.

• A solid understanding of AP/AR processes, compliance standards, and ways to make them more efficient.

• Comfortable working in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and open to learning new systems and tools.

• Organized, dependable, and clear in communication.

• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and integrity, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.

 

ExplorUS offers generous compensation of $80-$85k for this role plus a comprehensive benefit package.
