Role Description
We are building the next-generation blood diagnostic instruments, including a compact flow cytometer designed for accessible and decentralised clinical diagnostics. We are looking for a hands-on experimental optics/photonics engineer to design and build the optical detection system for this platform.
The role involves developing laser excitation optics, fluorescence and scatter detection paths, optical alignment, and integrating detectors with the signal acquisition electronics. Ideal candidates will have a PhD or postdoctoral background in experimental optics, photonics, or applied physics, and strong experience working with optical benches, lasers, fluorescence detection, and precision optical alignment.
This is an opportunity to help build a commercial medical instrument from the ground up in a deep-tech startup environment.
If you enjoy designing and building optical systems and want to translate research into real-world healthcare technology, please reach out or message me directly (mahesh@rheoheme.com).
