PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONResponsible for designing and planning extensions and revisions to the company's distribution system for new or existing residential, rural, and small commercial customers. Facilitate the installation of additions to the company's street lighting system and complete 3rd party make ready work. Prepare necessary sketches to electronically convert your design plan using computer programs such as TED/CEGIS, Pole Foreman, Asset Suite 8, Joint Work Agreements, CET Contracts, and Microsoft Office. Must be able to learn and apply Engineering Standards and Practices and interpret engineering plans from developers. Utilize correct Rates and Riders to communicate requirements with the customer in a professional manner to ensure that the customer's needs are met. Prepare contracts, permits and other related paperwork to provide service to customers. Contact customers, contractors, city inspectors and internal departments regarding the connection of electric service. Must be able to multi-task and complete high-volume design projects at the same time. Required to do job walk-downs over various field and weather conditions to gather and verify information. Requires field work including work site visits. Must be able to work safely, independently, and in a team environment. Additionally, the GSR actively participates in storm restoration with potential for overtime and callouts. NOTE: Per the GSR agreement, we will reach out to candidates individually in seniority order. This posting will not be held via the weekly conference call. Also, per the 2017 GSR agreement, the employee will be required to pass the GSR assessment, a day in the field, and have passed SASS.
