PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is selection-based on ability through an interview assessment process, therefore, there will be no conference call for this posting. The Lead Crew Leader, Line Overhead Distribution promotes, encourages, and models ComEd's values to emphasize safety, efficiency, inclusivity, and innovation. Additionally, plans, directs, and coordinates activities associated with the construction, maintenance and operation of all overhead distribution facilities through the specific and general directions of management. Provides input into the planning, implementation and execution of system performance, facility relocation, capacity expansion, new business, and all other work associated with the construction and operation of the ComEd electrical system. As required, supervises Construction & Maintenance (C&M) and operations employees engaged in the operation, maintenance, and construction of company's distribution facilities and equipment. Possesses aptitude for ComEd's many existing and evolving digital and computer-based tools. Assigns work and coordinates resources in a manner that ensures the safe, efficient, economical, and timely completion of work with high regard for customer satisfaction. In addition to the requirements and duties listed, employees transferring or promoting to an Overhead Fiber Optic Work assignment as an LCL, will be required to successfully complete Overhead Fiber Optic Work training during a ninety (90) day training and qualifying period for determination as to whether or not the employee can meet the job requirements:�� To perform the task of proof testing fiber optic cable as�required To attend periodic refresher training to�maintain�fiber optic skills To conduct on the job training for employees assigned to Overhead Fiber Optic Work� ** ANYONE INTERESTED IN A LATERAL OR PROMOTION TO THIS POSITION ANYWHERE WITHIN THE COMED OVERHEAD TERRITORY SHOULD SUBMIT A BID **

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

To be accountable for the safe and efficient utilization of multiple overhead distribution operations crews at multiple locations. This will normally not exceed the assignment of four (4) crews, as permitted with normal staffing up to twenty (20) employees, while performing the lead role for field assignments.
To assist multiple Supervisors and support crews at multiple locations with day-to-day operations.
To perform safety observations to include the documentation, training, facilitating, and promotion of safe work practices and behaviors in order to reduce safety risks and eliminate or mitigate occupational hazards.
To facilitate and lead various safety meetings, including but not limited to Safety Alerts, Technical Bulletins, documented observations, etc.
To manages work assignments to ensure they are completed efficiently and within the designated timeframe.
To promote efficiencies in work with assigned crews which result in meaningful and continuous improvements to the business.
To plan, coordinate, and provide guidance to assigned employees engaged in the execution of scheduled and emergent work activities; to perform job walk downs or previews in accordance with Work Control (Work Management) process.
To coordinate resources including obtaining outages, required permits, and access to property in the timeframe required to perform the work.
To determine and coordinate proper staffing for assignments, to ensure that proper equipment and materials are available.
To evaluate and assist management to coordinate emergency response, including performing emergency patrols to restore continuity of service to customers.
To interface with Work Week Managers, designated authorities (Distribution System Operations), planners (Operating and C&M), engineering and others including miscellaneous contacts such as municipal organizations (fire, police, etc.).
As required, to perform the work of any member of an assigned crew and to assist them in their work assignments, as trained and qualified to perform.

JOB SCOPE

This is the most senior level in the Overhead (OH) progression. Anyone interested in OH should bid on the Overhead Basic School posting when available.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

PROMOTIONAL POSTING: LOCAL 15 COMED EMPLOYEES IN THE FOLLOWING JOB CLASSIFICATIONS ONLY: - Overhead Electrician - Overhead Troubleshooter - Overhead Electrician Special (OES) - Crew Leader Line - Crew Leader-Planner
INTERNAL BIDDERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE IF: - Lateral - Disability/Restricted Duty � submit medical release prior to selection call stating ability to report full duty within 14 calendar days - Promotion - Disability/Restricted Duty � submit medical release prior to selection call stating ability to report full duty within 21 calendar days
Minimum of three (3) years of recent, three-phase Overhead Electrician or higher experience in overhead distribution (Construction & Maintenance or Operations).
First consideration will be given to employees in the Crew Leader, Line classification.
Successful completion of interview and assessment process.
Obtain and maintain CDL and valid medical certification.
Demonstrates an overall good work record; such examples include attendance, safety, performance, and productivity. A review of the employees working file will be conducted.
Thorough knowledge of ComEd overhead distribution construction standards and practices; ability to read working drawings and sketches.
Successfully complete required training, such as leadership skills, Work Control process, and etc.
Aptitude for ComEd's existing and evolving computer-based tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Employees who demonstrate familiarity and experience with the types of distribution systems of the location of the posting preferred.
