As our Content & Social Media Specialist, you will play a key role in building a reliable and engaging information ecosystem for our audience. You will conduct in-depth research on topics related to education, visas, student life, careers, and opportunities in Japan, and transform these insights into impactful digital stories and social-first content. Alongside content creation, you will help grow and engage our online community through strategic social media management, with a strong focus on Instagram.

Role Summary:
The Content & Social Media Specialist will be responsible for driving research-backed content creation and managing the social media presence for the Navi Japan app. In this role, you will combine analytical research skills with creative storytelling to produce high-quality written and visual content across digital platforms.
A major focus of the role will be identifying, researching, validating, and simplifying complex information related to studying and living in Japan, ensuring all content is accurate, insightful, and audience-friendly. You will also manage the end-to-end content lifecycle from topic ideation and research to content planning, publishing, community engagement, and cross-functional coordination with a primary focus on scaling our Instagram presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- In-Depth Research: Dive deep into topics related to studying, living, working, and navigating opportunities in Japan to ensure Navi Japan provides accurate, high-value information.
- Content Creation: Write compelling, engaging, and culturally resonant copy for social media posts, marketing campaigns, in-app features, and other digital platforms.
- Instagram Management: Take full ownership of the Navi Japan Instagram account, optimizing visual aesthetics, writing captions, engaging with the community, and staying ahead of platform trends.
- Content Planning: Develop, organize, and maintain comprehensive content calendars and posting schedules to ensure a consistent and strategic brand presence.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with internal teams (designers, product managers, and developers) to ensure timely execution and alignment of all creative assets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of professional experience in content writing, social media management, or a digital marketing role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, International Relations, or a related field.
- Domain Interest: A strong interest in or knowledge of Japan (language, culture, visa processes, or university systems) is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong Research Skills: Ability to source, verify, and synthesize information into easy-to-understand, actionable content.
- Social Media Native: Proficient with Instagram growth strategies, algorithms, analytics, and content scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Hootsuite).
- Copywriting: Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
- Creativity & Visual Eye: A knack for brainstorming fresh, out-of-the-box content ideas that stop the scroll.
- Detail-Oriented: Meticulous proofreading skills and a commitment to factual accuracy.
- Organization & Time Management: Comfortable multitasking, managing a content calendar, and meeting strict deadlines.
