About Pasban
Pasban — The Gatekeeper is founded by Akhil Anand, who built Tree of Life Resorts & Hotels into one of India's most respected boutique hospitality brands — scaling it to eighteen operating destinations across the country. Pasban is his next chapter, carrying forward the same philosophy: small inventory, strong sense of place, real local food, and unhurried service. We operate a growing portfolio of experiential boutique hotels across India.
About the property
Our property in Varanasi — a boutique stay rooted in the rhythm of the old city, the ghats, and the river. We attract a guest who comes to Varanasi for the city itself, and we want every room they walk into to reflect that level of intention.
About the role
The Executive Housekeeper is the single point of ownership for how every guest space at Ekam Kashi looks, smells, and feels. This is a hands-on leadership role at a small-inventory boutique property — you'll lead a tight team, hold the standard yourself, and own the relationship with every other department whose work touches a guest room.
Key responsibilities
- Own the look, feel, and hygiene of every guest area — rooms, public spaces, back-of-house, and outdoor zones.
- Lead and roster the housekeeping team — attendants, public-area cleaners, and laundry staff.
- Conduct room inspections before every handover to front office; maintain the snag list and close the loop with maintenance.
- Manage linen, amenities, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals — par stock, indents, and laundry coordination.
- Train the team on Pasban SOPs, hygiene standards, and guest-contact etiquette.
- Run preventive deep-clean, pest control, and water-tank cleaning calendars.
- Handle lost-and-found per policy and maintain the register.
- Coordinate with maintenance on out-of-order rooms, breakages, and refurbishment.
- Negotiate with local vendors for amenities, chemicals, and laundry services.
- Own the housekeeping budget — consumables, payroll, and outsourced services.
What we're looking for
- 5–8 years in hotel housekeeping, with at least 2 years as an Assistant Executive Housekeeper or Executive Housekeeper.
- Boutique, luxury, or heritage property experience strongly preferred.
- Sharp eye for detail — able to spot a crooked lampshade from across a room.
- Strong working knowledge of linen, amenities, chemicals, and laundry operations.
- Comfortable leading and disciplining a team of 8–15 people.
- Willing to live in or near Varanasi.
- Hotel management diploma or degree preferred; exceptional operators without formal qualification considered.
The role at a glance
- Full-time, on-site, Varanasi.
- Accommodation and meals on property are part of the package.
- Compensation in line with industry standards for boutique hospitality and discussed after a first conversation.
