Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished Executive Director – Operational Procurement to lead global operational procurement and supplier performance across a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment. This executive leadership role is responsible for ensuring resilient material supply, strengthening supplier partnerships, driving operational excellence, and building scalable procurement capabilities that support long-term business growth.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing global supplier ecosystems, leading procurement transformation initiatives, and driving supply chain resilience within automotive, electronics, or industrial manufacturing organizations.
Key Responsibilities -
- Lead the global Operational Procurement function, ensuring uninterrupted material availability across strategic supplier networks.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that strengthen supplier performance, supply continuity, and operational resilience.
- Drive supplier engagement, performance improvement initiatives, and executive-level escalation management to mitigate supply risks.
- Oversee supply planning, capacity validation, and long-term material availability in alignment with business demand forecasts.
- Manage supplier readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, End-of-Life (EOL) transitions, Part Change Notifications (PCNs), and production ramp-ups.
- Lead exception management processes, proactively identifying and resolving supply disruptions across the procurement network.
- Drive master data governance by implementing standardized processes, automation, and system integration for supplier information management.
- Develop procurement systems, KPIs, governance frameworks, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and supplier collaboration.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure cross-functional alignment and execution.
- Represent Procurement during executive governance reviews, supplier negotiations, and strategic business planning discussions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing procurement teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives across procurement operations through automation, analytics, and emerging supply chain technologies.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 15+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Supplier Operations within large global manufacturing organizations.
- Proven experience leading Operational Procurement or Supply Chain functions supporting complex, multi-site manufacturing operations.
- Strong expertise in supplier relationship management, supply planning, procurement operations, and material availability management.
- Demonstrated success driving procurement transformation, operational excellence, and supplier performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering change management, supply risk mitigation, and global supplier development.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, procurement technologies, master data management, automation, and analytics.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic decision-making skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates from Automotive, Automotive Electronics, Semiconductors, Industrial Manufacturing, Electronics, Aerospace, Heavy Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Global Manufacturing organizations will be preferred. Experience managing strategic supplier networks, electronic component supply chains, or global procurement operations will be a significant advantage.
