Job Purpose
The Executive Associate to the Founding Partner serves as a strategic legal and operational gatekeeper, ensuring the seamless management of the Founding Partner's professional practice. This dual-responsibility role combines active litigation support—accompanying the Partner to the Madhya Pradesh High Court (Indore Bench), District Court, and various tribunals—with high-level administrative, calendar, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Litigation & Court Support
- Court Accompaniment: Accompany the Founding Partner to all court hearings, and tribunal proceedings across Indore (or other cities if required).
- Docket & Board Management: Monitor daily cause lists, track case stages, manage the firm's daily court board, and ensure the partner is briefed on immediate priorities before stepping into court.
- Pass-Overs & Proxy: Handle pass-overs, request adjustments to the court board when clashes occur, and state appearances before the bench when required.
- Registry Coordination: Work closely with the firm's clerks to oversee physical and electronic filings, clearing objections (defects) raised by the High Court or District Court registry.
2. Executive Office & Calendar Management
- Gatekeeping & Scheduling: Manage the Founding Partner's master calendar. Strategically schedule client consultations, internal strategy meets, court timings, and personal engagements.
- Communication Hub: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Founding Partner’s phone calls, and emails. Filter urgent issues and draft professional responses.
- Conference & Briefing Setup: Coordinate and schedule briefings and client conferences. Ensure all case files, case laws, and digital compilations are ready before meetings.
- Travel Coordination: Manage end-to-end travel logistics for outstation matters (e.g., Main Bench at Jabalpur, Bombay High Court, NCLT Mumbai, or Supreme Court in New Delhi).
3. Legal Research & Documentation
- Quick Briefs: Conduct rapid legal research on Manupatra/SCC Online to provide relevant precedents during ongoing court arguments or client meetings.
- Document Review: Ensure all daily orders, draft petitions, and client communications are filed correctly in physical files and cloud systems.
Required Skills
- Exceptional Logistics Skills: Flawless ability to manage complex calendars, prioritize conflicting court schedules, and handle high-pressure environments.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication in English (for legal drafts/corporate clients) and Hindi (for local court staff and regional clients).
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Indian legal databases (SCC Online, Manupatra), digital court portals (e-Courts, MP High Court website), and calendar apps (Google Calendar, MS Outlook).
- Discretion: High level of professional integrity and absolute confidentiality regarding sensitive client and firm data.
