Role Overview
The role involves supporting the Director’s office with pricing analysis, margin working, inventory planning, inventory analysis, business follow-ups, coordination with internal teams, and preparation of reports and summaries for management review.
The candidate should be strong with Excel, comfortable working with numbers, and able to coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely updates, accurate information, and proper follow-through on key business matters.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Margin Working
- Prepare pricing workings for products, customers, and business proposals.
- Support margin calculations based on cost, selling price, freight, discount, and other commercial inputs.
- Analyse profitability across products, categories, customers, and regions.
- Compare current pricing with proposed pricing to highlight margin impact.
- Prepare pricing summaries for Director review and approval.
Inventory Planning
- Support inventory planning based on sales demand, product availability, ageing stock, and business priorities.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Commercial, and Logistics teams to understand stock requirements.
- Assist in planning movement of available inventory across categories, locations, and customer requirements.
- Track stock availability against expected orders and sales plans.
- Highlight inventory gaps, excess stock, and priority stock movement requirements to management.
Inventory Analysis
- Review inventory data and prepare stock movement summaries.
- Analyse slow-moving, non-moving, ageing, and high-value inventory.
- Track category-wise, product-wise, and location-wise inventory levels.
- Identify inventory risks, blocked stock, excess stock, and stock liquidation opportunities.
- Prepare inventory reports highlighting key concerns, trends, and action points.
Follow-ups & Coordination
- Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Commercial, Operations, Logistics, and other internal teams.
- Follow up on pending action items, data requirements, approvals, and business updates.
- Maintain trackers for ongoing tasks, deadlines, responsible persons, and status.
- Ensure timely collection of information from different departments.
- Escalate delays, gaps, or unresolved issues to the Director where required.
Reports & Summaries for Director
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for the Director.
- Summarise key business updates, pending matters, pricing decisions, margin impact, and inventory position.
- Create clear Excel-based reports and PowerPoint summaries where required.
- Convert raw data into simple, useful management summaries.
- Support the Director with meeting notes, action trackers, and follow-up summaries.
Required Skills
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, filters, and data analysis.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- Ability to understand pricing, margins, costs, discounts, and inventory data.
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work with multiple teams and manage deadlines.
- Comfortable preparing concise reports and summaries for senior management.
