Who You Are:
You are a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Network & Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise across enterprise networking, AWS cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and infrastructure operations. You have extensive experience supporting large-scale enterprise or telecom-grade environments and are comfortable working across architecture, operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong Routing & Switching expertise, cloud infrastructure experience, and operational ownership supporting mission-critical environments. Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or AWS Solutions Architect are highly valued.
As a Consultant, you’ll contribute to client engagements by delivering insights, building deliverables, and leading workstreams. You’ll be expected to bring strong analytical thinking, and a proactive mindset to solve client problems and drive transformation.
Role and Responsibilities:
You may work on various projects throughout your career with Excelacom. The roles and responsibilities noted below pertain to the specific role listed above.
Configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain enterprise Routing & Switching environments
Support Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching infrastructure in enterprise and data center environments
Manage Layer 2/Layer 3 networking including VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, STP, routing failover, and redundancy technologies
Support routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS
Support WAN, MPLS, and SD-WAN environments across enterprise and cloud infrastructures
Implement QoS, ACLs, NAT/PAT, and network security policies
Troubleshoot packet loss, latency, routing, and network performance issues using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, and SNMP monitoring solutions
Support Cisco Nexus data center fabrics and exposure to VXLAN/EVPN technologies preferred
Design and support AWS infrastructure including EC2, VPCs, Route Tables, Security Groups, and hybrid cloud networking
Administer Linux and/or Windows Server environments and support VMware/virtualization infrastructure
Support infrastructure monitoring, patch management, backup, disaster recovery, and upgrade activities
Support DNS, DHCP, and IPAM administration
Participate in infrastructure automation initiatives utilizing Terraform, Ansible, and/or Python scripting
Maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and operational procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting infrastructure modernization and operational stability initiatives
Work closely with clients to identify process improvements
Analyze business challenges and recommend technology-driven solutions
Support system development, integration, and testing activities
Develop presentations, deliverables, and implementation plans
Assist with proposals and business development efforts
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience supporting enterprise networking and cloud infrastructure environments
Strong hands-on expertise with Routing & Switching technologies and Cisco Catalyst/Nexus platforms
Experience supporting enterprise routing protocols including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and IS-IS
Experience with WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS, ACLs, and network security technologies
Strong AWS infrastructure experience including EC2, VPCs, Route Tables, Security Groups, and hybrid connectivity
Experience administering Linux and/or Windows Server environments
Experience supporting VMware or enterprise virtualization platforms
Experience supporting infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, disaster recovery, and operational support activities
Exposure to automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Python scripting preferred
One or more of the following certifications required: CCNP, CCIE, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, or AWS SysOps Administrator
Prior consulting experience – in an agile environment – with a leading strategy firm, consulting practice, or consulting technology firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Telecommunications, Media, or Cable is highly preferred
- Past success in generating new business with existing clients
- Good time management and collaboration skills
- Experience supporting telecom-grade or large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments
- Exposure to Cisco Nexus data center fabrics, VXLAN, and EVPN technologies
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud and highly available enterprise environments
Compensation and Benefits:
Excelacom offers competitive salaries, health and wellness benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and career growth opportunities. For regular full-time employees, the estimated salary range is from $100,000 to $130,000.
