EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Combo Welder to join our team. As a Combo Welder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity and quality of welded components across various industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform welding tasks using a combination of different techniques, such as Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core, depending on project requirements.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to comprehend welding specifications and assembly needs.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures, equipment, and piping systems through the precision welding of components.
- Select the appropriate welding methods, materials, and equipment based on the type and thickness of metals.
- Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing scale, slag, and other impurities.
- Securely position and clamp workpieces using jigs, fixtures, or other positioning tools.
- Safely operate welding equipment to create precise and high-quality welds.
- Inspect welded joints for defects, ensuring compliance with welding codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as fitters and inspectors, to achieve accurate assembly and installation.
- Assist in setting up and laying out welding projects, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Welding certification from a recognized program is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Combo Welder in industrial environments.
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, including Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux Core.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and industry standards.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Physical capability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and lifting heavy materials.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding.
