Vistra operates across two primary client groups:
- Vistra Funds Services (VFS) focuses on supporting Funds clients (Private Equity; Real Estate and Private Credit) through the delivery of Funds Administration; Investor Onboarding; AIFM; Depositary and similar offerings, and
- Vistra Global Solutions (VGS) which is focused on Corporate (and corporate like) clients through the delivery of such offerings as Company Incorporations; Legal Entity Management & Compliance services; Financial Accounting and Tax services and Payroll and Payments services.
As Vistra continues to scale its global delivery hubs and transitions toward a platform‑led, AI‑enabled operating model, enterprise architecture and engineering are no longer back‑office IT functions. They are strategic enablers of margin, risk control, operational resilience, and client experience.
Role Purpose
The EVP, IT Architecture & Engineering is accountable for defining and executing Vistra’s enterprise‑wide technology architecture and engineering strategy, ensuring that platforms, systems, and integrations are secure, scalable, cost‑effective, and fit for a regulated financial global business.
This role:
- Owns Vistra’s enterprise, cloud, data, integration, engineering and security architecture,
- Ensures technology actively enables global delivery scale, automation, and AI adoption.
- Reduces fragmentation and technical debt across regions and service lines.
- Acts as a senior advisor to ExCo on technology risk, investment, and prioritisation.
It is a hands‑on executive role with accountability for delivery, not just standards.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture & Engineering Strategy
- Defines the process by which Technology products are onboarded and off boarded at Vistra.
- Defines both engineering and architectural standards across all technology products.
- Define and own Vistra’s global enterprise architecture framework, aligned to business strategy and operating model.
- Develop and maintain multi‑year architecture roadmaps across applications, infrastructure, cloud, data, integration, and security.
- Lead global architecture governance, including approval, exception, and lifecycle management of technology standards.
- Produce architectural high‑quality high level designs and reference architectures for core platforms and transformation themes.
- Produce Engineering high‑quality low level designs and reference architectures for core platforms and transformation themes.
- Produce design blueprints for core applications that are in investment standards.
- Define integration patterns and standards between products and systems that need to interface to each other whilst maintaining security, value and speed.
Architecture & Engineering Domain Leadership
Provide integrated leadership across:
- Application Architecture: ERP, CRM, enterprise sw, regulated SaaS platforms, EMS systems.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Hybrid cloud, compute, storage, network, end‑user services.
- Data & Analytics: Data platforms, pipelines, governance, transformation layers.
- Integration: API strategy, middleware, event‑driven and asynchronous architectures.
- Security Architecture: Zero trust, IAM, telemetry, AI guardrails, agent authentication, password less low friction security, regulatory controls.
Digital & Platform Enablement
- Partner with Technology, Product, Operations, and Data leaders on major transformation programs. h
- Drive cloud‑first, platform‑centric modernisation.
- Ensure solutions are modular, scalable, resilient, and cost‑transparent.
- Actively assess emerging technologies while preventing uncontrolled tech sprawl.
- Provide frameworks for Technology teams and the business to operate in fast whilst retaining necessary guardrails and controls
- Constantly look for re-engineering opportunities to consolidate, simplify and collapse standards.
- Manage the buy, hold, sell register for all global SW standards.
- Build, manage and maintain CMDB to functionally look after the management and onboarding of all global SW.
Governance, Risk & Technical Debt
- Establish global architecture principles, standards, and patterns.
- Lead architecture assurance for all major investments and programs.
- Reduce technical debt through structured lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with global data, security, and regulatory requirements.
Executive & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to ExCo on technology strategy, trade‑offs, and risk.
- Translate business strategy into clear, executable technology blueprints.
- Align regional IT teams around a single architectural direction.
Team & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high‑performing global architecture and engineering capability.
- Develop enterprise, domain, and solution architects across regions.
- Establish architecture communities of practice and shared design standards.
Vendor & Ecosystem Management
- Shape strategic relationships with key technology vendors and integrators.
- Influence enterprise agreements and architectural decisions.
- Ensure third‑party solutions comply with Vistra architecture and security standards.

The EVP will be expected to deliver clear, measurable outcomes across Vistra’s global technology footprint.
1. Enable Scalable Global Delivery Hubs
- Design architectures that allow services to scale across India, ASEAN, and China without linear growth in cost or risk.
- Support shared service and delivery hub models through standardised, platform‑centric designs.
- Leverage the HUB locations to deliver and scale engineering and architectural standards.
2. Simplify & Standardise a Fragmented Technology Estate
- Rationalise applications, integrations, and infrastructure using buy / hold / sell principles.
- Reduce dependency on bespoke systems and point‑to‑point integrations.
3. Make Architecture an Accelerator, Not a Constraint
- Shift architecture governance from slow approval gates to agile, design‑led enablement.
- Provide clear reference architectures and HLDs that accelerate delivery teams.
- Gradually move the organization to fewer products and standards that help shape a modern enterprise
4. Embed Security, Compliance & Resilience by Design
- Ensure architectures meet data protection, regulatory, and operational resilience requirements across jurisdictions.
- Embed zero‑trust, identity‑first, and telemetry‑driven security models.
5. Enable AI, Data & Automation at Scale
- Ensure platforms are AI‑ready: API‑first, data‑rich, cloud‑native, and observable.
- Partner with Data & AI leadership to ensure architecture enables non‑linear scaling through automation and intelligence.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 15+ years’ experience in global enterprise architecture and engineering leadership.
- 8+ years in senior global enterprise or domain architecture roles.
- Proven success defining and executing enterprise‑wide architecture and engineering strategies in complex, global environments.
- Deep expertise in enterprise applications, integration, and data platforms.
- Proven experience operating in regulated or risk‑sensitive industries.
Preferred
- Strong experience and certifications across cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or equivalent).
- Certified in agile, TOGAF and modern architecture / engineering standards methodologies.
- Certified human centered design methodologies would be an advantage
- Experience leading large‑scale ERP or cloud transformation programmes.
- Experience building architecture capability in Global Capability Centres (GCCs) or shared services models.
