We seek a versatile planning leader who can guide our team through brand, customer, and product transformation to unlock this next growth phase. Your day-to-day:
Strategy
- Drive long-range category strategies and product/assortment seasonal/annual plans. This includes line plans, pricing and positioning strategies, and category financials.
- Bring customer and market perspective to the design and product development process. Thoroughly understands the brand's target customers by tracking attitude and lifestyle trends.
- Ability to apply trend forecast and influence the product POV during the development process using both market information and Brand Filters.
- Own and approve team bottoms-up plans against tops down targets and business strategies.
- Own report out of product strategies, sales results, financial plans, and forecasts to the SLT with recommendations to drive growth and mitigate risks.
- Lead Monthly Open to Buy Process, driving inventory chase and flexibility strategies to optimize and de-risk investments.
- Drive briefing and direction of Promotional Events managing Annual Calendar in support of company revenue and margin targets
- Finalize and execute pricing for Events as well as markdowns.
Process & Tools
- Partner with design, production, planning, and marketing to implement product strategy.
- Support leadership in design briefs, development targets, line plans, and product ranks.
- Drive key P2M deliverables across the cross-functional team.
- Own delivery of the open-to-buy forecast and revenue, margin, and cost turnover KPIs.
- Support seasonal product briefings to brand and creative teams to ensure great positioning and inspiring launches of our products.
- Influence the commercial plan to deliver revenue and margin and product launch goals.
- Lead operations and business systems development in partnership with Product Management and Product Operations.
- Retail: Provide direction and support to retail operations through allocation and replenishment.
- Leverage experience with AI and advanced analytics to optimize reporting structures, demand forecasting, and operational workflows.
- Serve as a key stakeholder in the evaluation and launch of new enterprise tools for planning, allocation, and reporting (e.g., Anaplan enhancements, Syrup integration).
Leadership
- Lead and mentor a lean, high-performing team of up to 6 direct reports, fostering an entrepreneurial mindset to drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Own financial share-outs for Monday Business Review, Monthly & Quarterly Hindsighting and Long Range Planning.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- 10+ years experience in Merchandising/Merchandise Planning/Buying/Inventory Management
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience managing a team of 3+ direct reports and managers of others.
- Deep knowledge of product development, financials, and production.
- Strong understanding of the apparel market and trend cycles
- Deep appreciation for data and natural curiosity to dig deep into analysis.
- Strong level understanding of apparel demand forecasting and apparel supply chain
- Ability to manage a team to hit inventory efficiency and margin KPI’s in a high revenue growth business
- Experience working in both digital and brick and mortar apparel/accessories planning and merchandising
- Passion for continuous learning and building a team with a growth mindset
- An aptitude for coaching and mentoring
- Strong leadership skills and a natural ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional partners.
- Excellent communication skills with experience influencing at all levels of the organization.
- Fluency with merchandising systems, tools, and applications.
Fine Print:
At Everlane, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The annual compensation range for this role is $128,000 - $195,000. This range may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
Work Arrangement: This is a full-time role based at our Los Angeles office in the Arts District, reporting to our SVP of Merchandising and Planning. Currently the company operates a flexible work schedule, Tuesday - Thursday are in office, but on occasion the business may require 5 days in office.
Travel is limited but there is opportunity for market travel, retail store visits.
