Maintenance Engineer

What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our facility looks great, functions efficiently, and stays safe for guests and employees. You’ll work both indoors and outdoors, troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and completing preventative maintenance tasks that keep our operations running seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on experience, the duties, responsibilities, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Engineer training process:
- Work directly with the Engineering Manager to support daily maintenance operations
- Maintain and repair company equipment, fixtures, and structures, both inside the facility and across the property grounds
- Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, gas-powered tools, and lifts
- Inspect parts and equipment, identify wear or defects, and make repairs to ensure proper operation
- Repair, replace, and test parts using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking equipment such as drill presses, grinders, and welding tools
- Install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, air conditioning, and drainage systems in accordance with plumbing codes
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues including commodes, water heaters, and drainage systems; repair and replace faulty piping and unclog drains
- Perform minor electrical work including replacing fuses, bulbs, switches, outlets, ballasts, and fixtures
- Complete preventative maintenance throughout guest rooms and public areas, including:
- A/C troubleshooting
- Caulking, grout, tile, painting, and wallpaper
- Finish plumbing and furniture repair
- Minor carpet repairs and drain snaking
- Work independently with minimal supervision while following all company policies and safety guidelines
- Maintain flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and attend mandatory meetings as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements
- Moderate verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with stamina
- Adaptable, with a high level of service and responsiveness
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to learn and complete tasks unique to the casino operations environment
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field such as construction, casino maintenance, or facilities engineering
Special Qualifications
- Valid State of New Hampshire Driver’s License required
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and gas-operated equipment
- Knowledge of general building maintenance, plumbing equipment, and fixture repair
- Ability to operate a scissor lift, man lift, and forklift
- Ability to operate all tools and equipment used by the Engineering Department
Age and Gaming
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Non-gaming position
Language Skills
- Ability to read and understand written English
- Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints, and emergencies
- Fluency in English required
- Spanish speaking ability preferred
Mathematical Skills
- Basic algebra and geometry skills
- Ability to calculate formulas
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations
- Ability to understand and follow policies and standard operating procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgment
Physical Demands

- Continuously required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, climb, and balance on ladders over 12 feet high
- Use hands to inspect, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Lift and carry items up to 90 pounds
- Reach with hands and arms, and sit, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Work in all weather conditions including extreme cold, wet, windy, and humid environments
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
