EUMETSAT is Europe's meteorological satellite agency - monitoring the weather and climate from space - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. EUMETSAT is operating an increasing fleet of satellites delivering weather and climate data to users worldwide; helping protect lives, property and industries. EUMETSAT's Internship Programme enables students with mandatory internship requirements to gain valuable insight into working in Space Based Earth Observation whilst still studying. We have now published internships for undergraduates in 2025 on the following topics: · Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning: Get hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI and machine learning projects. · Climate Data Analysis: Work on creating climate data records using geostationary satellite data. · Data Systems Analysis: Explore and analyse the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Information System (WIS 2.0) from EUMETSAT's perspective. · Satellite Operations: Dive into automated station-keeping analysis for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, including new missions like EPS-Sterna. · System Monitoring with ELK Stack: Help implement a monitoring system for our data processing infrastructure using Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana. · Data Collection Technology: Contribute to the development of enhanced data collection standards for satellite transmitters. · Legal Affairs: Gain valuable experience working with our Legal Affairs Division.
