Job Description
Job Summary
The GBS Accountant will be responsible for in depth research and analysis for invoice booking, contracts and reports. He/she will be responsible for data entry and reconciliation of duty sub ledger based on different set of rules that vary among the countries. The position requires exceptional attention to detail and timely resolution with high level of accuracy. The GBS Accountant should be a multi-tasking person with willingness to take additional and challenging responsibilities as per business requirement.
Job Duties
- In depth analysis of contract, accordingly update lease in system as per set procedures and guidelines
- Inspection & reconciliation of the daily booked items. Making necessary rectifications in the system on wrongly booked items.
- Research discrepancies and co-ordinate with appropriate teams at UPS to resolve
- Creation of journals for advanced system bookings (splits, rebooking’s, accruals)
- Clearing aged items on time & with proper follow up
- Arranging calls with countries and UPS internal customers to efficiently resolve the queries
- Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Supporting management in answering aged items analysis questions
- Maintaining process DLP’s
- Responsible to maintain the data for Internal Audit

- Knowledge of links between F&A departments in GBS
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Accuracy and attention to details

- Must possess advanced reasoning and research skills

- Ability to prioritize multi-tasks under deadlines and time constraints
- Knowledge of accounting principles, Vat regulation and Recovery Rules
- GAC Knowledge – Bank Reconciliation, Journal creation, accrual process, prepayment, P& L and BS booking, cash settlements
- Ability to read & understand the contract structure – Cooperation with different country, AP team, GAC team, Real Estate Team
Prerequisites
- Knowledge of UPS Accounts Payable is must
- Eye for details and should meet stiff deadlines
- Have an excellent attendance track record
- Self-driven
- Should be flexible with shift timings & working days as per business requirements
Education
- Graduate/Post graduate in Commerce field is preferred with AP experience
