Role Description The ETP Operator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pathankot. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure wastewater is treated in accordance with environmental and safety standards. Daily tasks include starting and stopping equipment, checking and recording readings, adjusting chemical dosing, and maintaining pumps, valves, and other treatment systems. The ETP Operator will regularly collect samples, perform basic tests, and report any abnormalities or potential issues to supervisors. The role also involves routine cleaning, preventive maintenance support, adherence to standard operating procedures, and coordination with the production team to manage effluent loads safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate and monitor effluent treatment plant equipment, including pumps, filters, clarifiers, and dosing systems.
- Knowledge of basic water and wastewater treatment processes, including pH adjustment, chemical dosing, and sludge handling.
- Skills in recording operational data, maintaining logs, and following standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Capability to perform basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues and escalate complex problems appropriately.
- Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations related to wastewater treatment and industrial operations.
- Minimum of a high school diploma; technical certification or diploma in environmental science, chemical, mechanical, or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in an ETP, STP, or industrial utility operation in manufacturing or beverages industry is an added advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and handle on-site operational tasks in a plant environment.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn and follow instructions in a team-oriented setting.
