Key Responsibilities
- Validate ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Compare source and target data to ensure data integrity.
- Write and execute SQL queries for data validation.
- Identify data mismatches, defects, and report issues to development teams.
- Perform backend testing of data warehouses and BI reports.
- Test ETL workflows using tools like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar.
- Work with business analysts and developers to understand data requirements.
- Create and maintain test cases, test plans, and defect reports.
- Perform regression testing on data pipelines after changes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of SQL (joins, subqueries, aggregations).
- Understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing.
- Experience with ETL tools (Informatica / SSIS / Talend / DataStage).
- Knowledge of database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to validate large volumes of data.
- Basic understanding of BI tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in ETL/Data Warehouse testing.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux commands is an advantage.
- Exposure to automation testing tools is a plus.
